Self-Help Homes is currently accepting “PRIORITY APPLICATIONS” for all designated areas listed below. We are also accepting applications for Hurricane, UT, at this time. Self-Help Homes is an equal housing opportunity organization. Please note that the waiting lists for Utah and Wasatch Counties are still currently closed and will reopen on January 1, 2025.
Priority Applicants must meet all qualifications including the following income requirements:
Utah County – Family of 5+ must make between $64,000.00 – $71,950.00 gross annual income.
Wasatch County – Family of 5+ must make between $71,000.00 – $79,750.00 gross annual income.
Washington County – Family of 5+ must make between $52,000.00 – $63,700.00 gross annual income.

PRE-APPLICATION
***Due to the high volume of pre-applications submitted on January 1st, please allow 3-4 weeks for review (for Utah and Wasatch Counties). Regardless of your eligibility, we will notify you via email once your application has been reviewed. Please ensure that all required pay stubs are included. Applications missing documentation or not fully completed will not be processed. Currently, our waiting list is projected to exceed one year, possibly longer. However, we are working diligently to process as many applications as possible in a timely manner. Thank you for your patience and understanding.***
Do you qualify? Click here to answer the pre-qualification questions. If you meet all requirements, you will automatically be forwarded to the pre-application form. Please have a two-year income history available when filling out the form. You will need to upload the following income documents (if applicable): two paycheck stubs, or one month’s worth (whichever is greater), child support, Social Security income, or any other non-wage income. Upload the Schedule(s) from your two most recent tax returns, if you are self-employed. PDF format is required for all documents. If you have questions, please call Self-Help Homes at (801) 375-2205. Someone from our office will usually contact you regarding your application via phone/email in about a week.

Please Note: Self-Help Homes will maintain a Waiting List for the areas where we are building. Each applicant will be placed on a Waiting List by order of the date their Pre-Application is received by Self-Help Homes. When we are ready to organize a group and begin accepting Full Applications, we will start at the top of the Waiting List and begin calling families until we fill a group.
Application priority may be given to:
Families with very low income
Families ready at the time we call for a Full Application
To start the full application process:

Print and fill out the Full USDA-RD Application and additional documents.

Print and gather all documents according to your area.

If you are Self-Employed, print and fill out the YTD Income vs Expenses.
